Now then. A trip to South Korea ain’t complete without a gander ‘round Busan. If you’re only heading to Seoul, then you’re doing it wrong.

Busan is a mix of beach city, and rich culture. It’s extremely mountainous, trust – walking around this city it not for the weak.

Get yoursen a T-money card to get ’round. And consider a Busan Pass, book here on Klook. to access over 34 tourist attractions and get discounts; this also doubles as a rechargeable transportation card (subway, public bus). You can get a 24 hour pass for ₩55,000 or a 48 hour pass for ₩85,000.

1. Busan Tower for 360 views over the city, day or night. Tickets cost ₩12,000 for adults (April 2026). Only about 6 quid, but we chose to admire the tower and the surrounding garden from the ground – free of charge.

2. The Gamcheon Culture Village, once a refugee settlement that has now been transformed into a colourful, cultural tourist destination. You’ll find the Little Prince, and also a stamp quest dotted around the village (maps can be bought for ₩2,000 at the tourist information – you may also receive 3 free postcards on this stamp trail). The perfect free souvenir.

The Village is free to enter, but getting there can be time consuming. If you only have 1 day consider a tour to all the popular locations or a Busan Pass.

3. Walk the Igidae Coastal Trail. We started at Oryukdo Skywalk (picture below) and followed the jagged coastline to Gwangalli Beach. We walked for roughly 5 miles, which took us 2 hours 45 mins. Sea view, suspension bridges, sea caves this route has it all.

When we did it in April, there were also so many caterpillars! Honestly, we were covered in silk.

4. Gwangalli / Haeumdae Beach

We only visited Gwangalli beach and it’s nowt special, a glorified Blackpool. We had a gander, sat and had a drink after the above slog of a walk, and head some tea. They do have SUP hire here, if you’re interested in that.
